Celebrating the all too fleeting visit of the magnificent Crown Princess ...
Yes indeed it was a fleeting visit yesterday and unscheduled too. She arrived at 0800 and left at 0930 but it was a joyous hour and a half. The 2 pictures above were taken at arrival and the 2 below show her departing for Stavanger in Norway.
Well done with the latest cruise list below Colette. Ace.
Some exciting times ahead.
I will pin this one for a while in 'homage' (French pronunciation please ) to the great ship and to an interesting hour and a half.
See also 3953/3954.
Now unpinned.

CRUISE VISITS
_____________
A Hub of activity on Sea News as usual. Great photos of Pile Driving, Dredgers & Cruise ships, the comings & goings of a busy port . I see we had a surprise visit this morning from the stunning Crown Princess, happy to see you got a photo MrB
So here are the first of our cruise calls for July including a real ‘Humdinger’.
On Monday July 3rd Saga Sapphire starts her 4 night ‘Café & Canals of Amsterdam’ (tulips optional) cruise, also visiting St. Peter Port, Guernsey in the Channel Islands before her return to Dover. She arrives at CT1, 07.00, leaving 16.00 hours, T/R.
Then on Friday July 7th after sampling the delights of ‘Old Amsterdam’ Saga Sapphire sets off on her 8 night cruise to the ‘Magic of the Fjords’ visiting the Norwegian ports of Bergen, Olden, Geiranger, Hellesylt and Stavinger along the way. Arriving here at CT1, 07.00, departing 16.00 hours, T/R.
On Sunday July 9th ‘when you wish upon a star’……. The wonderful Disney Magic starts her 13 night cruise around the British Isles, calling at Le Havre, Portland, Dublin, Liverpool, Greenock, Stornoway, Kirkwall, Invergorden and Newcastle. She arrives at CT2, 04.30, leaving 17.00 hours, T/R
Now for the real ‘Humdinger’, on Monday July 10th, another one of the Fantabulous Princess Cruise Liners ‘Sea Princess’ arrives all the way from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to start her awesome 53 night cruise to Sydney, Australia, Wowza! Two princesses in a week
She was last with us in July 2016 and here is an itinerary to blow your socks off! She first visits Norway and Iceland, across the Atlantic to the port of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Then on to America visiting New York, Charleston and Key West before visiting the South American port of Cartagena, Columbia, through the Panama Canal to the Pacific Ocean. Cruising down to Manta, Ecuador, El Callao and San Martin, Peru before visiting Easter Island. She then calls in to the Pitcairn Islands (Mr Christian! Thee Marlon Brando, of course) and the French Polynesian Islands of Papeete, Tahiti and Bora Bora before Auckland, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. That’s some cruise. Arriving at CT2, 06.00, departing 20.00 hours, T/R. Phew!
The following day Tuesday July 11th we have another surprise visit from AIDAbella arriving at CT2, 08.00, leaving 20.00 hours, PoC. I don’t have any further information at this time, as to my knowledge she should be in Norway on that date. As I’ve said before, we’ll wait and see
That’s it for now, I’ll be back with more cruise visits real soon

Some very grey pictures now from friday evening of the departing Black Watch. Time was only about 16:30 or 4.30pm if you prefer, but it looks like much later in the pix as 'twas more than a wee bit grey and gloomy as you can see. She was off on her Ireland Scotland Icelandic tour which sounds like an exhilarating itinerary....and we can all do with a bit of exhilaration...

The BBC are reporting a collision in the English Channel off Dover...
"An oil tanker and a cargo ship have collided in the English Channel.
The ships came together 15 miles north east of Dover at 02:00 BST, the coastguard said. The 183m (600ft) tanker Seafrontier, which is loaded with gasoline, has a hole above the waterline and damage to the superstructure, the RNLI said. The 225m (740ft) Huayang Endeavour was also damaged. None of the crew on board either ship was injured. "

A relief that none of the crews were injured,

A couple of pictures now from yesterday morning friday...yes indeed its our ol friend the Black Watch arriving here with us at the Port of Dover under a magnificent early sky. Time of pictures: 05.44. She left us last evening heading on down to Falmouth and we might have a pic or two of that departure to follow in due course, if they are any good. Here we are with a couple of very recent pictures above for you to enjoy Vic and for all to enjoy and see the progress. You can see the orange-clad guys working away there. The structure is now bigger than the Seasport Centre/Hythe Bay Restaurant. For now anyway Vic you can enjoy the pictures on here.

Pictures above there of an arriving convoy last evening. Tug Inge W was towing in the familiar Wadden barges round about 4PM (1600). To be honest yours truly hadn't spotted that the Wadden barges had gone away, as we have so much action here right now. The Waddens were hard working vessels during the earlier dredging stage. In the second pic the pilot boat holds a sailing yacht to one side as the convoy moves through. Bringing up the rear were Llanddwyn Island and Afon Goch, both just out of shot.
Some extra pictures now below of the Disney Magic and the Dina Scout supply vessel ( the lady in red )...also in shots the green Arklow Fortune from the Emerald Isle.
Good work below there Patrick. Well done with those pictures...
Thanks Vic... great pix from all the guys.

'Disney Magic' prepares for departure to Stavanger last night. Alongside is bunkering supply vessel 'Dina Scout' that gave passengers an interesting view from the decks above. There was plenty of interest. The 'Arklow Fortune' is berthed on the Prince of Wales bringing more piles for the DWDR project.
'Disney Magic' well lit on evening departure. Two more further visits from her are scheduled for 9th & 21st July.

A couple of pictures above there of the magnificent Disney Magic arriving yesterday morning in the early gloom. Time was 5.30am... so yes indeed very early and quite darkish, you can see the movie screen all aglow on the top deck. ....yours truly was hoping for a better/brighter set of pix later but it wasn't to be, as she left very late last night around 10pm and it was pitch dark. She was a blaze of spectacular lights as she left us though which was nice to see.
"When you wish upon a star..."
Below we have a shot of the Pacific Princess departing for Bergen the misty evening before.
More from ColetteB in the cruise listing 3934.
Just caught the tail end of this one below...called Mare, I guess another vessel delivering DWDR piling.
In the background you can see the Varne Lighvessel and further into the background through the haze you can see Boulogne with the magnificent cathedral atop the hill. You can just make it out...
Great work below Mike. Great stuff all round. Very interesting pictures
Nice angles below there Ed on the Disney Magic...nice shots
Well done lads PB.

The Norwegian offshore supply vessel DINA SCOUT arrived at Dover mid-afternoon from Rotterdam & went alongside the DISNEY MAGIC, presumably to supply bunkers.
Unusual timing, usually the bunker tankers arrive as soon as the cruise ship arrives in port & have completed bunkering long before the cruise ship sails.
Also unusual to have an ORSV [Offshore Rig Supply Vessel] as a bunker tanker.
I’ve never seen that happen in Dover before, altho’ such ships can carry fuel for supplying oil rigs, mostly they carry cargo on their open decks.
I was up at St.Martins Battery expecting the MAGIC to sail at 1700 [A lot of passengers seemed to think so as well as there were many lining the rails].
I stayed until about 1830 before I gave up - during the wait the small tug MTS TAKTOW came in from Ijmuiden towing our old friend KREEFT & docked on Cruise-1 with the help of the AFON GOCH.
The DISNEY MAGIC finally sailed at 2145 for Stavanger,

Midmorning arrival of Irish coaster ARKLOW FORTUNE from Cardiff with more DWDR piles.
Somewhat dwarfed by the DISNEY MAGIC.
As she swung to berth on the Prince of Wales AFON GOCH & LLANDWYN ISLAND were shifting a barge.

That's the latest picture of the piling above..taken a couple of mornings ago before the gloomy weather set in. As you can see its quite extensive now, some very strong thumping and grinding was needed to accomplish this so far.
Below we have a couple of shots of the well loaded Baltic Klipper arriving with us on sunday morning and looking good. She departed in the fullness of time and the Discovery Bay went in to her vacated slot at the cargo Terminal...you can see the Discovery Bay in Ed's picture below page .. no 3936...
Nice shot below of the Dutch landing craft near Dunkerque Ed.... great to see that.
The Disney Magic is arriving through the mist as we speak..

The pictures above were taken in the rough oul gloomy conditions on Saturday just around noon. It was windy rough and tough as you can see, but tugs Llanddwyn island left and Afon Goch were out there in the thick of the action. In the top shot you can also see one of our favourites...crew transporter Grumpy...coming out of the inner harbour while the tugboats meander back in.
Nice shot of Discovery Bay below Ed. I still haven't got the Baltic Klipper up yet but have it in the pipeline. Bear with...the Baltic Klipper was in just before the Discovery Bay. Will have pix along very soon. Will get them sorted later. Great to see all the cargo ships.
Thanks for that info Mike, will keep an eagle eye out for that Oirish vessel.
Great cruise info Colette..yes the Pacific Princess was in here from early, came before yours truly saw the light of day , may be able to get a nice picture or two when she leaves... exciting ships coming in..
